If you stand still long enough to notice the breeze in your face and the earth beneath your feet, something interesting happens. You become present. And in that presence, you suddenly learn things about yourself that you may have never noticed before. You may notice that your arms are strong. Or that the late summer breeze feels soft against your dewy skin. Or that your heart is beating at a rhythm so steady, you wonder how something inside your body can happen without you even being aware. Without you being mindful of it. Without you ever having to do or know anything about it. And suddenly, in that moment of awareness, stillness and quiet, you notice you are alive… maybe for the very first time.
