setting place

(I am fairly certain my mother would have been beaming with pride at my Christmas table this year! Cheers to you mom and all you did for me. I can’t express in words how much I miss you.)

Setting place means something to me…perhaps because I fall at the end of a long line of women who immaculately entertain (my skills and supplies pale in comparison). I blame the gene pool or being a bit of a girly girl, but I just love a table dressed for the occasion. It can be casually rustic setting for a chili supper on a cold night or table set out in all it’s elegance for a perfect Holiday celebration. I just adore them all. Setting the scene makes me anticipate the holes that will be filled at the table when everyone comes together – like a puzzle whose picture is made all too briefly when all the pieces finally are put in their places making a room filled with happy noises and celebrations…no matter how small.
