I am enough.

(The following post was inspired from this TED video. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend sitting with a cup of coffee and spending 20 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Qm9cGRub0)

I am a good person. Kind. Caring. Thoughtful. I am not the forgotten Thank You notes I never sent out after my parents died or the flaky friend who forgot to call to check on you after your daughter had her surgery.

I am health-minded. I am not the oversized portions on my plate. I am not the yoga class I am afraid to show up to.

I am a loving parent. I am not as intense as I may seem during guitar practice. I am not the person who loses her temper when I ask you to get your shoes on 14 times at 7:43 AM so we are not late for school.

I am smart. I am not the mistake I made with that wedding shoot last month or the D- I got in Ms. Chanson’s 10th grade English class.

I am pretty. I am not the bad haircut I got last year or my too large pant size or my chunky thighs.

I am enough. And that is all I can ever be for you.
